ANF Group, Inc. Completes New Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., June 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- ANF Group, Inc., a South Florida based construction management firm, announced today the completion of the 170,000-square-foot Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital – the first free standing children's hospital in Broward County.

The hospital's unique 4-story building and new central energy plant is designed to earn Gold Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) certification, which includes environmentally friendly features that will improve performance and efficiency in the use of water, energy and other resources.

The children's hospital displays an overall theme of "Power of Play" with each floor presenting themes of Sports, Arts, Games and Dreams. The building contains a pediatric ambulatory and laboratory facility, family resource centers, surgical services, a 24-bed inpatient unit, pediatric imaging services, an outpatient hematology/oncology center and a 24-bed inpatient hematology/oncology unit. Connecting to the building is a new Central Energy Plant, which will provide full redundancy of electrical power for seven days in case of a natural disaster and an elevated walkway joining the existing children's hospital facilities and Memorial Regional Hospital. The facility is fully hurricane protected with impact windows and walls.
