Animal Film Festival and the Tarshis Foundation Announce Film Winners of $1,000 - 5,000 Cash Awards
GRASS VALLEY, Calif., Feb. 1, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The 4th annual Animal Film Festival (AFF) in partnership with the Tarshis Foundation has selected five films, each winning significant cash awards from $1,000 - $5,000. These are the largest cash awards offered in the country for films showcasing issues of animals used in food production.
The winning films will be screened during the 4th annual AFF presented by the Center for Animal Protection & Education (CAPE) on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Center for the Arts in Grass Valley. Doors open at 9:30 am – 10:00 pm. Amber and Adam Tarshis will be on stage to present the awards during the afternoon session.
The winning films are all between :30-:90 seconds in length and highlight issues of animal suffering in food production. Each film met the goal of either advocating for human health, the environment and/or the humane merits of plant-based lifestyles.

The winning films with awards totaling $14,000 are: $5,000 "Glass of Milk in Reverse," Ethan Elliot Williams, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals; $3,000 "Whose Side Are You On," Jonathan Rosenberry, Compassion Over Killing; $3,000 "Excuses," Jamie Berger, Mercy for Animals; $2,000 "Where Does Milk Come From," Duncan Skiles; $1,000 "What's the Difference?" Julianne Perry.
Directors Jonathan Rosenberry and Ethan Elliot Williams will be present to accept their awards at the event.
