Over 700 US-based graphic design school programs were evaluated for the 2018 rankings, with information gathered in three ways:

• Information from other reputable publications

The ranking criteria consists of the following:

• Academic reputation
• Admission selectivity
• Depth and breadth of the program
• Value as it relates to tuition and indebtedness
