Anitian Enterprise Security Opens New Data Center
New center is a model of efficiency, sustainability and practical business operations
BEAVERTON, Ore., March 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Anitian Enterprise Security, the oldest information security firm in the nation, announces today the opening of a new data center. The data center, located at Anitian's new offices, in Beaverton, Oregon, will include expanded hosting and data storage facilities, as well as state-of-the-art power and security features.
The new data center is in response to growing customer demand. Anitian saw revenues increase by more than 145% in 2009. On the heels of that phenomenal growth, Anitian is expanding to provide additional space for customers and internal operations.
"This is more than just outgrowing our old data center," said Andrew Plato, President of Anitian Enterprise Security. "Our business and our customers are demanding more. This new data center will allow us to offer expanded monitoring and management capabilities."
One of the key new features of Anitian's new data center is the extensive use of virtualization technologies. The new center will have a fully redundant bank of virtual appliances which can handle hundreds of unique servers and hosts. This is supported with a sophisticated high-performance storage appliance.
The result is a highly efficient, compact and powerful data center that delivers more with less.
"It's the mantra of 2010: Do more with less. I am really proud of the work we have put into this new data center. The use of virtualization technologies allows us to condense thousands of square feet of data center space into a pair of standard server racks which occupy less than 500 square feet. It saves space, time, money and energy. It also means we can pass those savings on to customers with better services and support at lower costs."
While the new data center might seem small to some, Plato regards the small size as the future of data centers. "For decades, data centers just grew and grew, like a fungus, consuming ever more resources, namely energy. With new virtualization technologies coupled with high-efficiency cooling and power systems, data centers can now shrink. I suspect that in 10 to 15 years you will see data centers that are the size of a large closet that has the same capabilities of what now occupies a whole building."
The new data center will come on-line at the end of March. Anitian does not expect to interrupt any services during the transition.
