"Annie Get Your Club" Celebrates Annie Elkins 160th Birthday on June 5, 2011

FILLMORE, Calif., May 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Elkins Ranch Golf Course will honor its founder Annie Elkins with a birthday party and day of golf specials on Sunday, June 5, 2011, which would have been her 160th birthday. Mrs. Elkins, along with her husband C.C., founded a 110-acre citrus ranch on the site where the golf course is now located. She died in 1946.

"We want to encourage women like my Great Grandmother Annie to come out and golf with us that day. We also want all residents in the area who maybe haven't been to see us lately to join us at Ventura County's friendliest golf course, help us honor Annie and have some fun," says Cheryl Dimitt, General Manager of the Elkins Ranch Golf Course, which includes an 18 hole, 6,302 yard golf course, a pro shop and bar & grill, offering great food and a full bar.

Foursomes who reserve tee times before June 4 will receive an additional 10 percent donated in their name to the local Boys & Girls Club to encourage young golfers.
