SHENZHEN, China, May 2, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The awarding ceremony and a series of academic activities of the 9th International Space Design Award - Idea-Tops were held in Shenzhen from April 26th to 28th. Participants came from Britain, the United States, France, Italy, Germany, Israel, Spain, Japan and other countries and regions. More than 1500 outstanding designers, foreign ambassadors, industry experts and scholars, entrepreneurs, and leaders of more than 30 provincial and municipal industry associations in China witnessed the opening of the grand event of the global design community. The International Space Design Award - Idea-Tops, is the most internationalized space design award in China. The Idea-Tops Award is not only a stage for the gathering of multicultural exhibitions in global design, but also a pioneer platform for sharing and exchanging ideas on the forefront of global design trends. The Award featured a series of events and academic activities, including the Press Conference of the 9th Idea-Tops Award, the Designers Evening Banquet, the G10 Design Summit, the 9th Idea-Tops International Design Masters Forum with the topic of "Design Trends in the Age of Artificial Intelligence", the Designers Red Carpet Show, the 9th Awarding Ceremony, and the 9th Idea-Tops Winners Sharing Forum.
The 9th Idea-Tops Award received 7,113 entries, a new high, from 45 countries and regions around the world, including Britain, the United States, France, Italy, Germany, Greece, Sweden, Portugal, Bulgaria, Mexico, Japan. Many works were submitted by top names in the global industry, including Gensler, Atkins, B.E Architecture, MVRDV, UNStudio, BENOY, Woods Bagot, Mitsubishi JishoSekkei, etc.
On the evening of April 27th, at the 9th Awarding Ceremony, the Best Design Award in 18 professional categories were announced, including Public Architecture, Residential Architecture, Green Architecture, Digital Architecture, Interior Design, Display Art and Lighting Environment. The winners were from 9 countries. Bulgarian Ambassador to China Porozhanov Grigor Kalinov and Consul General of Mexico in Guangzhou Carlos Giralt Cabrales attended the ceremony and congratulated the winners.
In the same evening, the Idea-Tops Award awarded the highest honor award, the Lifetime Achievement Award, the first in its nine-year history, to Professor Wu Liangyong. He is the founder of human settlement environment science in China, an academic leader in the field of architecture and urban planning, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and a winner of the National Top Science and Technology Award. Professor Wu Liangyong encouraged all designers to work together to create a beautiful human settlement with high-level planning and design.
The 9th Idea-Tops Awarding Ceremony was hosted by the Idea-Tops Organizing Committee, Shenzhen Design Week and Shenzhen Global Design Award Organizing Committee, Shenzhen Longgang District People's Government and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Cultural and Creative Industries Promotion Association. It was co-organized by Shenzhen Association of Interior Designers, HongKong Council for Technology & Creation, as well as Macau Cultural & Creative Industry.
