Announcing $3K Guaranteed Scholarship Offered to Workers Impacted by Oil & Gas Downturn by MLD Wealth Management
CALGARY, Alberta, Jan. 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, MLD Wealth Management Group, announced the creation of a $3,000 scholarship in support of those impacted recent decline of Oil and Gas industry.
In the last two years, plunging oil prices have given rise to difficult financial situations across the US and Canada. In Alberta, Canada, more than 40,000 workers lost their jobs as a direct consequence of the depressed crude oil prices while the US reported over 85,000 layoffs during the same period. Nearly two years later, the sector is far from a full recovery, and many individuals and families are still struggling to cope with this economic challenge. In response, MLD Wealth Management has committed to helping families directly impacted this downturn by offering a yearly scholarship open to all Canadians and Americans enrolled or planning to enroll in a certified educational institution.

Prospective students or students currently enrolled in an educational institution can apply through their asset management firm's website until May 10th, 2017. This annual scholarship will be awarded to a candidate who has worked in the Oil and Gas industry or had a parent or legal guardian work for the industry who has been negatively impacted by the decline of oil prices.
