ANTA America Debuts with Klay Thompson KT2 "Players Edition" Basketball Shoes
KT2 "Whitehawk" and "Blackhawk" Limited Edition Shoes Now Available Exclusively for Retail at Shoe Palace
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- A new player has entered the American basketball shoe landscape, ushered in by one of professional basketball's most lethal shooters, Klay Thompson. ANTA America, the U.S. arm of ANTA, one of China's most popular athletic shoe and apparel brands, begins its American journey today by unveiling the first two models of a full line of KT2 "Players Edition" basketball shoes. The limited-edition line will be available at select Shoe Palace locations, as well as online at Antaamerica.com for $120.
Designed collaboratively with Thompson, the KT2 "Whitehawk" and "Blackhawk" models are the first of an expansive line of KT2 "Players Edition" basketball shoes to be released over the coming months. Both shoes are designed for die-hard ballers of all levels, engineered to perform at the highest level against the rigors of the game on both the hardwood and the black top. Thompson is wearing KT2 Players Edition "Whitehawk" for home games and "Blackhawk" for games on the road.
"It's exciting to be playing such an important role in the debut of ANTA here in America and collaborating with them on my own line of signature shoes," said Thompson. Playing within pro basketball's most potent offense, Thompson is considered one of basketball's most lethal shooters, well known for his silky smooth style on the court. A dominant outside shooter, Thompson operates much like a hawk, subtly circling the perimeter for an open shot, and striking with deadly accuracy. Such was the inspiration for the KT2 Players Edition "Whitehawk" and "Blackhawk" models.
"Whitehawk" is characterized by a dramatic heel design, reminiscent of a hawk, along with aggressively styled angles resembling wingtips that flex, giving way to perforations for breathability. Wingtips are carried out further in an upward flow, evoking the energy of rising up to knock down a shot. A foundation comprising a high-traction outsole and lateral flare provide critical stability for the quick bursts, starts, stops and cuts on the court. The mid-foot offers a strong support system, with an injection heel that securely locks you into the shoe. The end result is a lightweight; yet extremely shock absorbent shoe, ideal for the rigors and intensity of the game.
"Blackhawk" features a black base color with blue along the sole and heel, and a bold yellow dominating the shoe's logo. Once again, the heel design, reminiscent of a hawk, makes a bold visual statement, with a midsole that's camouflaged with a unique splatter effect. Blackhawk carries the same performance-driven design features as its 'Whitehawk" counterpart.
While the complete roll out of the KT2 "Players Edition" line models will be prominent over the coming months, ANTA America's plans are not limited to basketball shoes. Future plans include a variety of athletic shoes styles, apparel and accessories.
