Anthurium Solutions, Inc. to Present Solutions at Aging in America Conference
Workshops to Focus on Insights and Innovation about Workforce Solutions and the Pharmacist's Role in 21st Century Health Care
BOSTON, March 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Anthurium Solutions, Inc. (ASI), a technology and solutions company offering turnkey and custom in-the-cloud solutions that enable new health care delivery models, will present during the American Society on Aging (ASA)'s Aging in America, the largest multidisciplinary aging conference in the country. During sessions on Saturday, March 31, Anthurium's CEO Tim Simard and VP Meredith Benedict will team with leading industry experts to provide insight into the aging workforce and discuss innovative technology solutions.
During Anthurium's workshop, "Medication Therapy Management: Innovating the Role of the Pharmacist on the 21st Century Care Team," the company will be joined by pharmacy thought leader Troy Trygstad, director of the Network Pharmacist Program for Community Care of North Carolina, a public-private partnership that supports regional networks to provide care through the Medical Home model. In addition to Trygstad's discussion of emerging roles for pharmacists under health reform, Anthurium will highlight its Pharmacy Outcome Enhancement Technologies (POET) solution. POET supports pharmacists conducting comprehensive medication therapy management (MTM), a key effort to address the multi-billion dollar problem of poor medication adherence.
Anthurium will be joined by Jim Emerman, Executive Vice President of Civic Ventures, a nonprofit think tank, for its workshop, "Working in Retirement: Technology and Policy to Support Opportunities for Encore Careers." This session will address what Simard calls Idle IQ™: the collective time of experienced professionals looking to apply their experience in flexible, meaningful and sustainable work, particularly the Baby Boomer generation. The panel will review Civic Ventures' recent research on who and how people want to work into their 60s, 70s, and beyond. Anthurium will discuss its "Community Collaboration Centers for business" (C3b) platform.
"The aging U.S. workforce includes 78 million Boomers. As a society we need to engage them to work longer. Research shows that giving people flexible work schedules and mobility, and giving organizations access to a skilled and vetted, on-demand workforce results in a win-win," said Simard. "The health care industry especially needs innovative workforce solutions that enable pharmacists, nurses, doctors and other professionals to work collaboratively and engage patients to meet the demand driven by chronic illnesses and our aging population. Our ASA workshops highlight how our 'work & people' solutions support new modes of working."
Aging in America will be held from March 28 to April 1 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C.
