Anti-Bully Ambassadors, Casey and Bella, Launch Free Bully Prevention Resources and Anti-Bully Curriculum for Schools
Attention Teachers, Parents, and Bully Task Forces… Casey and Bella are here to help with their Free Anti-Bully Curriculum, Bullying DVD, and Free E-Book: Casey and Bella Face Their First Bully, Co-Authored by 4th Grader Anna Stover
WEST NEW YORK, N.J., Oct. 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- According to the National Educational Association an estimated 160,000 students miss school each day due to the fear of being bullied. Jane Lovascio, author of the Casey and Bella series, knows this feeling all too well. While in elementary school, she endured what many children face each day, bullying.
"Being bullied was a painful experience no child should have to go through," Lovascio stated.
Five years ago Lovascio started the Casey and Bella book series based on her two dogs: Casey, a Jack Russell Terrier and Bella, a Yorkie. Lovascio has now visited 400 schools and does not charge appearance fees. Knowing how tight or nonexistent some school budgets are, Lovascio believes every child deserves the same opportunities in life.
Therefore today Lovascio announced the launch of the following Free Anti-Bully Positive Behavior Resources for schools:
- Anti-Bully Curriculum aligned with CCS for Elementary schools
- Casey and Bella DVD about Bullying
- Free E-Book Version of Casey and Bella Face Their First Bully, co-authored by 4th grader Anna Stover of New Hampshire, winner of the 2011 Casey and Bella Writing Contest.
Each year Lovascio holds a national writing contest for students to submit their own ideas for Casey and Bella's next big adventure. The Grand Prize Winner's story is published as the next book in the Casey and Bella book series. When the book is published, the young author gets to officially launch the book at his/her very own Barnes and Noble book signing with the real Casey and Bella dogs present to support the published author.
Lovascio started the Annual Casey and Bella Writing Contest to help inspire literacy and show children they can accomplish anything if they believe in themselves, have a positive attitude, and stay in school.
Casey and Bella books are available at retail stores nationwide, Barnes and Noble, Amazon, www.CaseyandBella.com, Kindle, Apple iBooks. Casey and Bella also have their own YouTube Channel, Twitter @CaseyandBella, and Free Interactive iPad App with games to encourage literacy in children.
