Antiques Centre of Troy Continues 'The Art Of Designing With Antiques' With Interior Designer Team Art|Harrison Sophisticated 'Rough Luxe' Living
TROY, Mich., April 29 /PRNewswire/ -- While design magazines are a mainstay for interior-decorating ideas, there's nothing like being in the heart of a room to feel the power of the design aesthetic. That's why Judy Frankel, owner of Antiques Centre of Troy, is showcasing designer vignettes within her 8,000-square-foot gallery, introducing unexpected design concepts – and the talented designers who created them – to the public, and through her Web site, www.judyfrankelantiques.com.

May's vignette, "Rough Luxe", is a nod to the designers' attraction to the rustic charms of eastern European dachas – Russian country retreats – with their rough-hewn walls and unexpected details. The vignette features some of the designers' favorite furnishings from their own custom designed Art|Harrison Collection. The furniture is showcased with a dramatic contemporary painting and exceptional antiques, including a 1920s Schnider glass vessel and an early 1800's museum quality Dutch walnut cabinet. All of this is then framed in a knotty pine paneled room that has been whitewashed to create a sophisticated space.
Arturo Sanchez and Barry Harrison, the design duo that makes up Art|Harrison, located in Royal Oak, have received recognition from national publications such as Beautiful Homes, Veranda and Southern Accents. But it is the praise and support from the design community for their line of handmade furniture they are most proud, with more than 45 pieces available.
Located at 2830 W. Maple Road, Antiques Centre of Troy specializes in European antiques and sells mostly English, French and Belgian pieces. Judy Frankel's sophisticated eye has helped her to create a shop with a diverse and particularly fine selection that rivals what designers are looking for in shops in Atlanta, New Orleans, New York and L.A. The gallery has become a magnet for collectors and interior designers in the greater Metro Detroit area who want to decorate with warmth, beauty and the history of fine antiques – always at affordable prices. www.judyfrankelantiques.com
