RIDGEFIELD, Conn., May 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Apelon, Inc., an international provider of terminology and data interoperability solutions, today announces that it is working with InterSystems Corporation, a global leader in software for connected care, to provide interoperability services to support the InterSystems HealthShare™ strategic informatics platform.  Apelon's portfolio of data interoperability products and services, including interoperability planning, content subscription service and data mapping services, will assist HealthShare clients to consistently aggregate and better analyze their clinical data.  An immediate benefit of the collaboration is the ability for healthcare facilities to satisfy Meaningful Use and Accountable Care Organization (ACO) standardized reporting requirements.

In collaboration with InterSystems, Apelon's tools and services support consistent data aggregation, normalization, and analytics for HealthShare clients. These services provide access to a complete set of national and international terminology standards, such as SNOMED-CT, ICD-10-CM and LOINC, within the HealthShare environment, and support the mapping of local data sets and code catalogs to these standards.  The combination of technology and consulting assists users of HealthShare, including health exchanges, integrators and related application vendors, to evidence true semantic interoperability in their environments.
