APOGEE Interactive's Home Energy Analysis Software Now Accredited by RESNET

ATLANTA, Jan. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- APOGEE Interactive's flagship residential energy analysis software application, EnergyInsights™, is now accredited by RESNET as a HERS® software tool for rating the energy efficiency of new homes.

RESNET is the Residential Energy Services Network, a nonprofit organization dedicated to upholding standardized, technically accurate and unbiased procedures for rating a home's energy efficiency.

RESNET's standards and HERS ratings are officially recognized by the mortgage industry for capitalizing a building's energy performance in the mortgage loan and by the federal government for verification of building energy performance for such programs as:

• federal tax incentives,
• the EPA's ENERGY STAR® program,
• and the DOE's Building America Program.

The accreditation requires passing a battery of software verification tests developed by the U.S. National Laboratories and RESNET. This process can span months of testing and requires accurate analysis of dozens of challenging home energy scenarios.
