Apollo Medical Holdings Appoints Louay Shawesh, M.D. As Chief Medical Officer

GLENDALE, Calif., Oct. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Apollo Medical Holdings, Inc. ("ApolloMed") (OTCQB-AMEH), a leading provider of hospitalist, critical care and multi-disciplinary care management services to the healthcare community, today announced the appointment of Louay Shawesh, M.D. as Chief Medical Officer.

Dr. Shawesh is an experienced hospitalist leader who joined ApolloMed in April 2011 as a Regional Medical Director.  Prior to joining ApolloMed, he served as Regional Hospitalist Medical Director at AppleCare Medical Group, an independent physician association comprising over 600 primary care and specialist physicians serving patients in the Southeast area of Los Angeles and parts of Orange County.  In his new role as the Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Shawesh will be responsible for the design and implementation of efficient, high-quality clinical and operational programs and value-driven patient care delivery.

Dr. Shawesh earned his medical degree at Damascus University School of Medicine and completed a residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Detroit Medical Center, an affiliate of Wayne State University.  He is a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine and is board certified in internal medicine.
