LANSING, Mich., June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The Capital Region Airport Authority today welcomed new air service announcements made by Apple Vacations and Sun Country airlines to provide non-stop flights again from the Capital Region International Airport (LAN) to Cancun Mexico, and new scheduled air service to Jamaica, Las Vegas, Orlando and Fort Myers beginning December 22, 2010.
"This is really exciting news for Michigan air travelers," said Robert Selig, Executive Director of the Capital Region Airport Authority. "Apple Vacations was very successful offering vacation packages to Cancun from Lansing through the spring of this year, and now by offering more flights on additional days of the week to Cancun soon and adding new weekly service to Jamaica, Lansing will be a hot international launching spot again for Michigan travelers during the winter and spring of 2010-2011."
"We are very happy to welcome new air service provided by Sun Country to Las Vegas and the popular Florida destinations of Orlando International and Fort Myers," Selig said. "Vegas and Florida were successful, profitable routes offered from Lansing in the past. I know our flyers will be extremely pleased to have low-cost, regularly scheduled service return to Florida again soon."
