Application Optimization is Smarter With Patented Technology From Venturi Wireless

SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Venturi Wireless, a global provider of mobile broadband optimization solutions, announces that the United States Patent and Trademark Office granted them a patent, "Method and Apparatus for Increasing Performance of HTTP Over Long-Latency Links," which protects its Application Optimization technology.  

Venturi's Application Optimization, protected by this new patent, allows applications and protocols that the internet is built on to operate effectively on wireless networks and is a part of Venturi's Optimization Engine solution.  Venturi's pre-fetch innovation adapts object delivery to network conditions and the user device's ability to process content delivered this way. This builds on the company's previously patented technology that specifies a proxy server in the network and on the user device.  Venturi's technology reduces the time in which such content is rendered, which studies show enhances the user experience.

Pre-fetch accelerates the network-browsing speed and display of user content, like web pages, by streamlining internet protocols and proactively delivering content to the user.  Application optimization improves how and when content is delivered without altering the source content needed by the user application, adding to the benefits of legacy Wireless Optimization solutions.

Content designed for mobile is built on the same standards and protocols utilized in non-mobile content.  However, these standards were designed for the more predictable conditions in wired networks and have not been adapted to the variability of wireless networks.
