MIRAL was made with the urgent desire to spark a human and very public discussion about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict - particularly in the US - where the Palestinian perspective, as expressed in Miral, is rarely seen.
The discussion and Q&A will revolve around why the filmmakers made MIRAL, which is currently in theaters in 11 cities across the US, the controversy surrounding this first-of-its kind drama chronicling four decades of the Israel-Palestine conflict from the unique perspective of a young Palestinian girl, and will aim to open up the heated discussion around the movie to its audiences across the US and the World.
Questions for Schnabel and Jebreal are being submitted from people across the web via Miral's Official Facebook Wall (http://on.fb.me/h7uyg8), or on Twitter using #MiralQA. DJ Spooky, who will also open the event with a multimedia performance, will pose select questions to the filmmakers.

Starring Frieda Pinto, Willem Dafoe, Hiam Abbass, Alexander Siddig, and Vanessa Redgrave, MIRAL is a stark, personal account of everyday life in East Jerusalem between 1948 and 1994, beginning with the people who shaped Miral's life – her mother, father and teacher – and following Miral as she grows from childhood into adolescence and young adulthood.
