Aqua Society Inc. Plans to Acquire AQUA-SE GmbH
Drum Filters for Aquaculture and Industrial Facilities Shall be a Further Main Pillar for Activities in the Field of Water and Energy
HERTEN, Germany, March 31, 2010 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The U.S. company Aqua Society Inc. ("Aqua Society") plans to acquire the German AQUA-SE GmbH, a company in the business of developing and selling filter technologies. Although formal agreements have not yet been signed, the transaction is expected to be completed by June 30, 2010.
AQUA-SE GmbH is an independently operated company located in Herten, Germany, and owned by Hubert Hamm, the President, Chief Executive Officer and majority shareholder of Aqua Society. AQUA-SE specializes in the development of drum filters for water treatment and purification. These filters can be used for fishponds and aquacultures as well as diverse industrial facilities.
The integration of AQUA-SE's business into Aqua Society would lead to synergy effects in marketing and sales for both companies, because many industrial enterprises need both - the use of waste heat and waste water management.
The decided advantage of the gravity-operated filters offered by AQUA-SE is that these filters consume less energy compared to conventional pump filtration systems. Furthermore, this innovative filter technology is characterized by lower maintenance cost due to minor load of sieves, bearings and other mechanical components.
Considerable Market Potential for Innovative Filter Technology
The drum filters developed by AQUA-SE are ready for the market. In total, more than 260 filters have been sold in Germany and abroad for different uses. Among AQUA-SE's customers are professional fish farmers, private koi owners and zoos, but also paper and foodstuff companies.
There is considerable market potential for this innovative filter technology, especially in industrial facilities where suspended solids have to be filtered from process or waste water. Aqua Society expects that the integration of AQUA-SE into its corporate structure will help both companies to reach their full market potential.
Shares of Aqua Society Inc. are traded in Frankfurt (WKN: A0DPH0, ISIN: US03841C1009) and in the United States of America (OTC: AQAS.PK).
