WILTON, Conn., Oct. 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Aquaphor – the dermatologist, pediatrician and pharmacist-trusted and recommended brand with nine decades of skin care expertise – announced a limited-time-only photography exhibit that is being unveiled in NYC. The photo series, produced by well-known photographer of Instagram fame Chris Ozer, is inspired by real consumer stories garnered from the brand's #AquaphorIt contest. The contest – which launched earlier this year – encouraged people to share their moments and stories of how they use Aquaphor. Examples included helping people protect minor cuts and scrapes, helping heal dry skin, soothing and relieving cracked hands and feet, solving countless beauty dilemmas and fixing a variety of simple skin woes. The exhibition – located at A+E Studios on 160 West Broadway – opens tonight with a private VIP 90th birthday party and will then be open to the public from October 28th through October 30th.
"We are celebrating not only Aquaphor's 90-year heritage, but also celebrating our fans who, for decades, have shared with us all of the many ways they use the product, and how Aquaphor Healing Ointment has made a real impact in their everyday lives," said Erynn Keefe, Director of Marketing, Aquaphor at Beiersdorf, Inc. "This exhibit is a true representation of how people across the country '#AquaphorIt.' We are so excited to partner with a talent like Chris [Ozer] who has brought to life so beautifully the dedication our loyal users have with our product."
The photos in the exhibit represent just some of the brand's many uses, all of which were pulled from the hundreds of #AquaphorIt contest submissions, including grand prize winner Ashley Shippy's. Ashley – like many first time moms – sought a skin care solution for her newborn son and found one in Aquaphor Healing Ointment, noting "Aquaphor is a product that every mother should have stocked and ready." Ashley's grand prize included an all-expense-paid trip to New York City to be part of Aquaphor's 90th birthday festivities. Such personal stories – such as protecting minor cuts and scrapes to soothing burns and a handful of ways to protect and treat baby's sensitive skin – have manifested themselves through Chris's photography, demonstrating the love people have for the product and how it has become their go-to solution for their family's many skin care needs.
"I was thrilled when Aquaphor approached me with this opportunity," said Chris Ozer. "As a dad myself, my family depends on tried-and-true solutions, and Aquaphor is certainly one of them. This project resonated with me both personally and professionally, and I'm so excited for people to experience Aquaphor through these photographs inspired by real life moments!"
Aquaphor Healing Ointment is uniquely formulated to restore smooth, healthy looking skin. Unlike petroleum jelly, it creates an absorbent barrier on skin, which produces an ideal healing environment that enables the flow of water and oxygen that enhances healing. Safe, gentle and free of irritation-inducing fragrances, preservatives and dyes are part of what makes Aquaphor so popular with doctors and dermatologists. Though the contest is over, people interested in sharing how they #AquaphorIt can continue to do so using the hashtag.
