Arch Coal's Coal-Mac Honored with West Virginia's Excellence in Reforestation Award
CHARLESTON, W.Va., June 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Arch Coal, Inc. (NYSE: ACI) today announced that its Coal-Mac, Inc. has earned the Excellence in Reforestation Award in West Virginia.
The Excellence in Reforestation Award was presented to Coal-Mac on behalf of the Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement (OSM) and the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection. Coal-Mac planted more than 100,000 trees in 2010 alone.
"It gives me great pleasure to award Coal-Mac with the Appalachian Regional Reforestation Initiative's 2010 Excellence in Reforestation Award in West Virginia for exemplifying the use of the Forest Reclamation Approach in their mine reclamation operations," said OSM Branch Chief Rick Buckley.
