LAGUNA HILLS, Calif., April 9, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- International award-winning Architecture Design Collaborative, celebrates its 5th business anniversary specializing in a client-centered and fully integrated design approach. The firm's philosophy is based on the belief that master planning, building and interior design are all inseparable and that applying a thorough understanding of each is essential to the success of any project.
ADC designed this 250 ft tower was proposed to a medical group for their new corporate location in a prominent cityscape. The lower portion of the building would be street retail shops and amenities, while the majority of the building would be medical office suites. The building also had a rooftop area with views to the ocean with restaurants and lounges for the patrons to enjoy while either working on site, waiting for appointments or stopping by just to have a bite to eat.
Architecture Design Collaborative (ADC) has worked on this exciting Mall Renovation project in Atlanta, GA since 2014. Led by Craig Chinn, AIA and Alexandra Gomez the project is designed to transform a traditional interior mall into the feeling of an outdoor shopping destination. The finishes, colors, and materials that the shoppers would experience needed to represent the outside environment. We worked closely with vendors like Mirage Tile, Afalux Tile, and American Import Tile. This attention to detail is what makes this such a successful project for ADC and the Perimeter Mall. Architecture Design Collaborative was integral in all aspects of this Mall Renovation project with designing and directing all of the architectural changes, exterior entrance changes, signage, custom lighting as well as regular mall lighting, restroom design and renovation, FF&E and all other aspects. ADC has a long history of Mall Renovations as well as Retail projects across the country.
This is a medium density, affordable housing apartment project located in Sacramento, California. The project consists of multiple three-story apartment buildings with tuck under garages, a single-story community building with a business center, training space, tot lot and a pool and spa.
This is a three-story, permanent supportive housing community designed for homeless veterans. It offers spaces for calm relaxation in the reflection garden, and community interaction in the community garden and amenity spaces. The community consists of 76 dwelling units and 3,000 SQ. FT. of resident services, recreational spaces, counseling rooms, staff offices, fitness rooms, and large outdoor areas.
The Cloud project was directed at revitalizing the dark corridor in front of Apple and Abercrombie & Fitch on the 2nd floor of the mall’s Dillards Wing. Due to the imbalance of lighting and natural sunlight from the skylights down the wing coming into this space, the intent was to create a light fixture that could provide ample visibility in the area while also incorporating a unique experience for the shoppers as they navigate through the space. Veering away from the rigid orthogonal build-outs throughout the rest of the project, The Cloud took a rather organic approach through a series of 3-form panels, each custom made carefully with slight adjustments, to cascade as shoppers walked from one side to another. Lit by Birchwood Lighting’s NOLAN LED linear lights, the translucent 3Form panels provided The Cloud the signature transparency resembling natural clouds in the sky.
Paperboy Pizza is located inside the Gallery Marketplace on the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica. The intent of the design was to create an atmosphere that resembles a divey and retro eatery off an urban street. This dynamic is created using rustic materials such as concrete for the countertop complemented by a warm live edge wood die wall, which imitates the materials one would see walking down a street. Venetian plaster and graphics on the walls are used to mimic graffiti art-filled alleys. Along the facade of the restaurant is a system of cold-rolled steel panels that adds to the rustic vibe of the pizza place. This is complemented with a rendition of the classic pizza restaurant red that surrounds the entrance as people walk up to order. To add to the retro vibe, the cookline is lined with bright pink tiles that spell out the restaurant’s name and draws people in to find out more about this unique restaurant.
Architecture Design Collaborative thinks big when it comes to their clients' needs. "Our collaborative nature and dynamic work environment are what have made us exceptional." says Craig Chinn, President. "I had the desire to create a truly diverse architecture firm that is an integral member of any development partner. We can do all aspects of a large project: master planning the site, design the buildings, interiors, finishes, signage, furniture and lighting so that all of these elements are integrated seamlessly and aesthetically."
Over these first 5 years, the firm's success is proof that when you are in tune with your clients' vision and develop a mutual trust and respect, the design transforms from a structure into something inspired and purposeful.
Since its inception in 2014, the company has grown to 35 employees in two office locations, a corporate office in Laguna Hills, CA and a second location in Arvada, CO. Early on, ADC pioneered their Mobile Design Studio, an on-site, expedited architectural design service which has further expanded their national influence. The firm's initiatives and momentum have allowed them to more than triple its revenue between 2014 and 2018.
Inc. Magazine revealed that Architecture Design Collaborative is No. 1627 on its 37th annual Inc. 5000, the most prestigious ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies in their first mention since incorporating in 2014. Additionally, the firm has been recognized as one of the magazine's 20 Top Engineering Architecture Companies with a three-year revenue growth of 285 percent. The lists represent a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy's most dynamic segment—its independent small businesses.
Architecture Design Collaborative's residential team has completed several notable affordable housing communities. Anton Arcade, a 5-acre site in Sacramento, CA., received MAME's 2017 Multi-Family Community of the Year Award. The design of this project complied with Federal ADA guidelines and employs many sustainable features which include a cool roof, exterior rigid insulation, shading devices, drought tolerant planting, and the Build It Green program. This year, Architecture Design Collaborative also broke ground on Orange County, California's largest housing development exclusively for veterans, Santa Ana Veterans Village. The three-story Spanish Revival-style apartment complex will provide 75 subsidized housing units for formerly homeless vets.
ADC's retail design studio has expanded nationally, and the firm is winning national and international recognition because of their knowledge and ingenuity in experiential design. LIT Design Awards has honored Architecture Design Collaborative with 2 Lighting Designer of the Year 2017 awards, Architizer A+Awards has awarded a Special Mention - Shopping Center, and IDA has awarded Honorable Mention for the renovation of Perimeter Mall in Atlanta, Georgia. Led by Craig Chinn, AIA and Alexandra Gomez, the objective of this project was to transform the traditional interior mall and create the feeling of an outdoor shopping destination. The firm was presented the challenges of illuminating dark corridors while providing a memorable experience. With architectural changes to the storefronts, custom designed lighting and furniture, ADC helped reposition the shopping mall to a marvelously different and appealing environment.
As mall owners reposition their properties to make them preferred destination points, ADC's experience in repositioning and renovating spaces has patrons enjoying new dining experiences across the country. Converting the outdated food courts into food halls is a new and exciting concept, and ADC delivers that "Wow!" factor that the retailers want. Mall St. Matthews in Louisville, KY, and The Gallery Food Hall, at 3rd St. Promenade in Santa Monica, CA are recent renovations where patrons really took to the updated ambience. The projects conceived new spaces celebrating both fare and culture of these eateries in these newly revitalized, neighborhood-serving food halls.
Architecture Design Collaborative credits its success to two key factors: First, the diverse roles and talents of the principals, Craig Chinn, AIA,; Chris Weimholt; Corey DeManty; Matt Morrill; Alexandra Gomez and Shaun Garrett; and secondly, an engaged and challenged staff that is able to execute a diversity of project types.
