The architects featured in the issue include some of the world's foremost designers such as Sir Norman Foster, Richard Meier, and Morphosis. This issue features LEED Gold certified North American projects such as: the Livestrong Foundation facility completed in 2009 by the Lake|Flato architectural firm in San Antonio — a renovated warehouse which recycled 90% of the materials from the original structure in its green building design; the Science and Engineering Building at the University of Minnesota Duluth, completed in 2010 by Ross-Barney Architects using sustainable strategies such as the use of low-emitting construction materials, advanced lighting and thermal comfort control as well as a green roof with native plant materials to reduce storm runoff and cool the building; and the Syracuse Center of Excellence in Environmental and Energy Systems, completed in 2010 by Toshiko Mori Architect PLLC — this "living lab" is slated to receive a LEED Platinum certification and is the result of extensive research conducted to maximize the building's potential to harvest sustainable energy resources from its own footprint. Projects located around the world, such as the Giant Campus Project in Shanghai, The Masdar Institute in Abu Adabi and City Green Court in Prague are also included. Each project is comprehensively covered through extensive, beautiful photography, site plans, diagrams and detailed descriptions.
