Arlis Construction Partners with The Lunz Group to Design Mixed-Use Project in Downtown Dunedin
DUNEDIN, Fla., April 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Arlis Construction U.S.A., LLC has selected The Lunz Group and Dunedin-based Principal Architect Jim Graham to lead the design of a mixed-use structure at the corner of Main Street and Douglas Avenue.
The mixed-use building will be situated in the center of Downtown Dunedin, Florida. Arlis Construction, the property owner and developer, plans to construct ground-floor retail and dining spaces, with condominium residences above and an underground parking structure below. The project will revitalize a long-vacant lot, currently being used for paid public parking. "This project is an opportunity to transform a vacant parcel in the heart of downtown into a refined building and outdoor space that provides an area for people to relax, dine, shop, and reside in," said Nils Kushta, a Spokesperson for Arlis Construction. "We are excited and honored to work together with The Lunz Group, who have an intimate understanding of the local surroundings and a proven track record of designing award-winning structures."
The Lunz Group has successfully designed and managed over 200 million dollars of work over the past five years, building their projects on a foundation of communication, collaboration, and sustainability. Jim Graham, Vice President of the renowned design firm and lead architect behind the development has over 35 years of experience in Dunedin. Additionally, he has held several prominent roles in the community, serving on the Chamber of Commerce, the Community Development Advisory Board, and the Local Planning Agency. The developer and architect plan to hold several review meetings with community stakeholders before project submittal. "We understand the value of cooperation and incorporating feedback with a project of this nature," said Jim Graham. "Our design process will include meetings, and reviews with residents, civic groups, committees, city officials, and stakeholders across the board."
According to Master Planning Documents drafted by the Community Redevelopment Agency for the City of Dunedin, a primary objective of the locale is to maintain its coastal small town character, while simultaneously encouraging mixed-use development in the Downtown Core. Arlis Construction and The Lunz Group plan to realize this objective by integrating community input and thorough analysis of surrounding area throughout the planning, design, and construction process.
