ATLANTA and WASHINGTON, Jan. 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Atlanta-based law firm Arnall Golden Gregory LLP took an important step in beefing up its Government Investigations and White Collar Crimes, Antitrust and Regulatory practices with the hiring of Partner Jeffrey S. Jacobovitz and Of Counsel David A. Felt, both of whom have joined the firm's growing Washington office.
Mr. Jacobovitz's practice focuses on antitrust, white collar defense and complex civil litigation for corporations, trade associations, health care organizations, and individuals. His experience includes more than 40 criminal and civil jury trials as first chair.
Mr. Jacobovitz has successfully represented clients investigated by the independent counsel, including White House officials and employees. Mr. Jacobovitz also represented a proposed intervenor in the initial U.S. v. Microsoft antitrust litigation and argued both in the U.S. District Court and the District of Columbia Circuit.
In 2006, Mr. Jacobovitz's representation of Compass Marketing in an antitrust case helped create new law. He was featured as a "Leading Lawyer on Competition, Litigation and Globalization" in The Art and Science of Antitrust Law (Aspatore Books, 2003). Mr. Jacobovitz formerly was Head of Litigation at a national firm in Washington, and before that was an attorney in the Bureau of Competition at the Federal Trade Commission. Mr. Jacobovitz joins Arnall Golden Gregory's Government Investigations and White Collar Crime Practice, which includes a number of former federal prosecutors with substantial experience in defending corporations and corporate executives in high-stakes government investigations and prosecutions.
Mr. Felt assists clients with regulatory compliance examinations, government contracts, and corporate governance. He is an expert on banking, housing finance and financial litigation and handles conservatorship and receivership cases, director and officer liability matters, complex enforcement matters, workouts, disclosure and securities issues.
Mr. Felt was the acting General Counsel for the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Overnight (OFHEO), the regulator for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, before forming his own consulting firm. He has spent most of his career in the financial services area, serving in a variety of senior positions at the Federal Home Loan Bank Board, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), OFHEO and the Federal Housing Finance Authority.
Both Mr. Jacobovitz and Mr. Felt are active lecturers and panelists. Mr. Jacobovitz is frequently quoted in the press and has appeared numerous times on CNN. Mr. Felt often comments in the media on banking and housing matters.
