Arteris FlexNoC Interconnect IP Licensed by Renesas Electronics Europe for Industrial Systems on Chip

Unique Network on Chip interconnect IP enables unrivaled debug visibility and time to market

Oct 30, 2012, 08:30 ET from Arteris, Inc.

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- ARM TECHCON -- Arteris, Inc., the inventor and leading supplier of network-on-chip (NoC) interconnect IP solutions, today announced that Renesas Electronics Europe has selected Arteris® FlexNoC® network on chip interconnect IP for multiple systems-on-chip (SoCs). As designers of SoCs in industrial markets have increased the number of IP blocks in a chip, debug and back-end routing and timing issues have increased exponentially. Renesas adopted Arteris FlexNoC to overcome these issues while also obtaining the benefits of faster performance and an integrated IP configuration, simulation and verification environment.

"We rely upon FlexNoC's integrated probing and observability features to make defect-free SoCs," said Horst Rieger, engineering manager at Renesas Electronics Europe. "And with FlexNoC's integrated IP and tool suite, we can show our customers that their use cases are satisfied and offer them earlier software validation because of FlexNoC's embedded debugging and probing features."

"Thanks to FlexNoC, we can answer Requests for Quotation (RFQ) faster and more accurately, reducing our customers' time to market," said Niels Trapp, senior manager, marketing at Renesas Electronics Europe. "Arteris FlexNoC helps us help our customers."

"Renesas Electronics' use of Arteris FlexNoC interconnect IP proves how our network on chip technology and integrated products can reduce SoC time to market," said K. Charles Janac, President and CEO of Arteris. "We are proud to be an important contributor to Renesas' success in meeting their SoC customers' needs."
