Artist Dana Blickensderfer Debuts Multi-Sensory Art Installation at Broward College and the University of South Florida's Group Show 2018
Artist Dana Blickensderfer joins local artists in a group show debuting her multi-sensory installation, "The Madonna," at Broward College and the University of South Florida.
MIAMI, Sept. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Dana Blickensderfer began her artistic career while working and living in New York City. She is also the founder of Provoke Art and the co-founder of iBoss Advertising. She is a USF alumna and studied drawing and painting at the New York Studio School [NYSS] in 2015-2016. In recent years, she opened the base of her artistic studio in St Petersburg (FL), where she continues to develop works today.
Blickensderfer's current art installation for the group show brings her concerns for womanhood, intersectional feminism, and women in business to light.
In her new multi-sensory art installation, she symbolizes her intimate connection to her femininity through the use of form and lighting. Her symbolic reference of the heart offers a deeper understanding of what contemporary society feels towards women today. She draws parallels between her personal life, entrepreneurship, and pop culture in her connection to the feminine.
It is through a wide range of surface work, alternating between rough and smooth materials, transparent and delicate, that she is able to enhance her ideas about womanhood.
