Ascentium to Present Innovative Website Potential with SharePoint at WPC 2010
SEATTLE, July 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Monday, in a breakout session at the 2010 Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference in Washington, D.C., Microsoft and Ascentium Corporation will detail how partners can use Microsoft® SharePoint® 2010 technology to help customers combine their intranet and web needs into one model.
Called "Microsoft's Untapped Opportunity: SharePoint 2010 for Internet Sites," the session features SharePoint veterans with backgrounds in technical system integration and marketing. The speakers are:
- Jared Spataro, director of Enterprise Search at Microsoft Corp.
- Tony Sloggett, director and partner for Ascentium, United Kingdom.
- Max Romanenko, vice president and general manager of technology at Ascentium.
"This is really a ground-breaking moment for partners and customers," said Tony Sloggett.
"Businesses are looking to shift their marketing dollars into the digital space while still climbing out
of the recession. By extending the SharePoint platform from their intranets to public-facing websites, they can combine costs and use the same skills to reach different audiences."
Sloggett would know because Ascentium has built more than 20 public-facing SharePoint websites, making it an industry leader in SharePoint innovation. With roots as a system integrator for Microsoft, Ascentium has also built hundreds of intranet portals and earned the 2008 Partner of the Year Award for Portals and Collaboration.
At the same time, the company has grown as a digital agency, ranking fifth among independent agencies in the 2010 Advertising Age Top 50 Digital Agencies report. The key to Ascentium's success with SharePoint websites is the knowledge base built by its history of combining the technical knowledge of a system integrator and the design skills of a digital agency.
"This is the time when customers really need both skill sets," Ascentium's Romanenko said. "At Ascentium, we are excited by the momentum building for SharePoint 2010 and for the chance to deliver great experiences on the platform."
