DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla., Jan. 15, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- AshBritt congratulates former AshBritt General Counsel and Vice President of Business Development, Jared Moskowitz, on his appointment by Governor Ron DeSantis as Director of Florida's Division of Emergency Management.

Jared Moskowitz, Esq. was Executive Vice President of Business Development and General Counsel of AshBritt, Inc. As Executive Vice President, Mr. Moskowitz oversaw the contracting/procurement department and led AshBritt's public policy efforts, including all U.S. Federal, State and Local Government liaison operations. Prior to joining AshBritt in 2009 he attended George Washington University, receiving his Bachelor's degree in Political Science, and then the Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University, receiving his Juris Doctor. Mr. Moskowitz worked as an intern in the White House Advance Office for then Vice-President Al Gore and served as an assistant on Senator Joe Lieberman's 2004 Presidential Campaign. In 2008, Mr. Moskowitz served as one of President Barack Obama's representatives to the Electoral College in Florida. While attending law school, Mr. Moskowitz was elected to the Parkland City Commission and served as Parkland Vice-Mayor from 2006-2008. As a City Commissioner, Mr. Moskowitz supported efforts to make Parkland more eco-friendly by providing subsidies to households that purchase low-flow toilets and showerheads, energy-efficient air conditioners and hybrid cars. Mr. Moskowitz was reelected to his second term to the Parkland City Commission in November 2010 serving until 2012. In November 2012, Mr. Moskowitz ran and subsequently was elected as the State Representative for District 97, representing Coral Springs, Tamarac, Sunrise and Plantation in the Florida House of Representatives. Mr. Moskowitz was reelected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2014 and 2016, where he currently servers. Most recently, as an alumni of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, Mr. Moskowitz helped shepherd students and families affected by the recent tragedy though the Florida legislative process and passed The Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Safety Act.
