SEOUL, South Korea, April 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Asia's biggest 'Seoul Int'l Photo & Imaging Industry Show 2014' kicked off at Samsung COEX on 17th (Thur) that runs until 20th (Sun).

The 23rd show, as the biggest photo show in Asia, covers cameras, lenses, Video Equipment, Movie Cameras, 3D Image Equipment, 3D Printers and more, which shows state-of-the-art digital imaging technologies and photography culture. P&I is organized by Coex, Korea Optical Industry Association(KOPHIA), Korea Photo Imaging Industry Association (KOPI). 141 companies participate including SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS, Cannon, Nikon, SAEKIP&C, SONY, KOREA FUJIFILM. From shooting to developing, all the contents and products are showcased all under one roof.

Photo & Imaging 2014 consists of a diverse range of shows providing market trends and substantial business opportunities. The concurrent shows include the photography and travel themed 'Photo & Travel', Asia's first photography oriented Art Fair 'Seoul Photo', an introduction to media-related technology 'P&I Movie Zone', and high-tech optics equipment such as 3D printer and HMD (Head Mounted Display),'Photo & Optics'. The show ranges the largest area and the most contents ever since its birth.

It features the '100 YEARs of LEICA' Pre-Show where visitors can see 50 of Leica's vintage cameras and Wetzlar entries that will be auctioned off on 23rd May in Germany. In addition, 50 photographs and brand new 'Leica I' are also showcased.

Photographs by World photographers Henri Cartier Bresson, Rene Burri of MAGNUM, Abbas, Bruno Barbey and Elliot Erwitt are shown along with their cameras, too.

Photo & Travel starting from last year is introducing a range of cities. For Photo & Travel, the exhibition takes place under the theme of 'the most favourable shooting places' in cooperation with Seoul Photo Club (SPC), the biggest photo club in Korea with 1,000 foreigners.

P&I includes varied events targeted to not only photo lovers but also normal attendees: P&I SNS 3 Minutes Film Festival, Photo & Optics, P&I PHOTO BOOK Fair, P&I Seminar, P&I Movie Zone Seminar, 2014 Spring Photo Contest, Promotion of the 12th Meeting of Conference the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP '12), UNICEF's Photo Exhibition

Photo & Imaging is the first show in Korea acquiring the UFI (Union des Foires Internationales) certification in 2002. Also, it was selected as the Promising Exhibition by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy for 13 consecutive years.
