WAYNE, Pa., Sept. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Late last week, we saw a flurry of announcements by credit card issuers and frequent flyer and guest programs.
Hyatt and Chase announced improvements to their affinity card. From 1st October 2012, card members will be able to earn double points on restaurant, airline and car rental spending. They will also be able to get elite night and stays based on annual spending.
Hyatt Gold Passport is also having a "up to a maximum of 65,000 bonus points" promotion if you stay at Hyatt Hotels from now until 30th November. You can earn 5,000 bonus points for the first five night stay and 10,000 points for subsequent five night stays until you hit 65,000 points.
American Airlines and CitiCard also announced that they are sponsoring a concert just for their cardmembers. They are organizing a Love the Journey concert in LA (19th October at The Orpheum Theater - Maroon 5) and New York (15th October at Avery Fischer Hall - Alica Keys).
Chase also announced that they are selling tickets for the Jason Mraz December concert in Madison Square Gardens Concert from 17th September to 22nd September 2012. The sales are available to all Chase credit card and debit card holders exclusive before they are available to the public.
On the interest rate and sign up bonus front, rates remain unchanged in most credit cards. There have been no changes in 0% deals. Sign up bonuses for cash back and rewards cards remain unchanged. We are into our second week of the 50,000 bonus the the American Express Business Gold Card.
