WAYNE, Pa., Sept. 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- There were several interesting events this week. Firstly, Marriott and Chase modified the bonus structure of their rewards card over the weekend. For the regular version, the bonus was increased from 25,000 points to 30,000 points. But they added a spending requirement of $1,000 within the first three months.
The 50,000 bonus remained the same for the premier version. But they added a similar spending requirement of $1,000 within the first three months of membership.
This week also saw a new promotion by Citicards. Right now, they are offering new card members of their Citi ThankYou Premier Rewards Card the ability to earn double points for every dollar that is spent for 24 months.
British Airways is also running a mega miles promotion now. Between now and 31st January, you can earn bonus miles on BA's flights. You will earn 15,000 miles for the first flight, 35,000 for the second and 50,000 miles from the third flight onwards. You can earn unlimited bonus miles during this promotion.
Starwood Preferred Guest is having a 40% rate off for every night that you stay at their hotels. This promotion is good until the end of the year.
On the rate front, interest rate remained roughly unchanged even though the Fed announced recently QE3. There has been no change in balance transfer deal or any material changes in sign up bonus deals.
