AspirEDU Offers Dropout Detective™ to Support Philadelphia's Adults Pursuing an Education
TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- AspirEDU®, a provider of educational analytics software, has partnered with the Mayor's Commission on Literacy to help adult learners stay on track. AspirEDU is donating use of its Dropout Detective™ student retention solution to help educators monitor the progress of learners. Dropout Detective reviews student performance and offers an automated early alert of struggling students. This allows educators to offer support to those students earlier in the term.
"Dropout Detective has been a phenomenal tool to more efficiently identify learners at risk of dropping out of our classes," said Jennifer Kobrin, Associate Director of The Commission. "Once we know someone is at risk of leaving the course, we can pinpoint a reason, and provide the necessary intervention. In the past, we have seen learners who drop out of the class because of a changing work schedule or a computer virus. Now we can provide them with the computer resources they need to continue their work and pass the course. We commend AspirEDU for their willingness to donate Dropout Detective to our work in educating low-level adults in reading and mathematics, and we know this tool will help us continue to leverage resources most effectively, and ultimately, increase the educational levels of the learners we serve."
"The Mayor's Commission on Literacy provides a wonderful and necessary service to the community and we are proud to be part of the effort," said Kimberley Munzo, CEO of AspirEDU, Inc. "Adult learners are not full-time students and their studies can be disrupted by other life events. Dropout Detective was built to analyze many behaviors and identify struggling students while there is still time to help them. We could not be more pleased with the opportunity to give back to the education community in Philadelphia."
