WASHINGTON, Oct. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Astrophysics Inc., a leader in conventional and air cargo security x-ray inspection systems, announced today that it is establishing a new office in Crystal City, VA, near the District of Columbia. "The new office will better serve our growing Federal Government clientele, with sales and service combined in the same location," explains Astrophysics President, Francois Zayek. "We are expanding our footprint in the United States, creating skilled American jobs, and enhancing our research and development capabilities."
The new office will be led by Mark Laustra, who has nearly a decade of experience in directing sales for the US Homeland Security market. "I am excited about further developing this key market for Astrophysics. We've been in business for more than ten years, and are attracting significant market attention as a supplier of advanced, government qualified X-ray systems," said Laustra, who led government sales for Smiths Detection before moving to Astrophysics.
