Atherton Baptist Homes Celebrates Opening of New Luxury Senior Apartment Homes
ALHAMBRA, Calif., Aug. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Atherton Baptist Homes, one of San Gabriel Valley's oldest and most respected senior residential communities is pleased to announce the opening of its newest residence—The Courtyard. The development consists of 50 private, luxury independent living apartments with underground parking, located on the corner of 6th Street and West Commonwealth Ave. in Alhambra.
The grand opening and reception for charter residents of The Courtyard and invited guests is scheduled for Friday, August 5, at 625 West Commonwealth, beginning at 10:00 am. Light refreshments will be served and private tours will be available upon advance request. An additional open house with opportunities for group tours has been scheduled will be available to the public on Saturday, August 13, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

The three story development features apartments with a variety of floor plans. Courtyard residents will join the 350 seniors who currently call Atherton home and take advantage of campus-wide amenities including an on-site coffee shop, dining and catering facilities and beauty salon. Additionally there is a indoor swimming pool, community chapel, game room, woodshop, library and art studio.

Halverson also pointed out the care with which the Atherton and Haskell teams considered the design of The Courtyard, ensuring that it remain in keeping with the area's architectural influences. Notable features include the addition of spacious breezeways, a center court with lush vegetation, fountains, a pergola and wandering paths. Atherton took additional measures to preserve the existing landscape, enlisting a certified arborist to preserve a 100-year-old oak tree in the middle of the new tract.
