Atlanta Financial Literacy Foundation to Partner With Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta
ATLANTA, June 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Jonathan D. Rosen Family Foundation (JDRFF), dedicated to empowering economic independence in children through the promotion of financial literacy announced today a partnership with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta (the Atlanta Fed) to host a series of programs in July at the Bank's Atlanta offices.
The two-day programs (July 8th and 9th for high school students and July 15th and 16th for middle school students) will not only be hosted by the Atlanta Fed, they will also feature an interactive session with the Bank's Director of Economic Education where the students will learn more about the Federal Reserve's function in the U.S. economy and be part of a special "behind the scenes" tour of the Bank's operations and facilities.
The Wealthy Habits programs, developed by the JDRFF, are designed to give students a competitive edge by teaching them to think differently about making, spending and saving money while also providing them the skills to manage it properly. Among the skills the students will learn in the workshops are:
- Budgeting, Banking, Borrowing (developing strong money habits)
- Saving Early and Saving Often (Rule of 72)
- Making Money and Paying Taxes
- Debt and Credit
- Investing & Entrepreneurship
