SAN DIEGO, Nov. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Teachers and students in San Diego military-connected schools have something to celebrate today as AT&T revealed it "flash funded" projects listed by teachers on the education crowd-funding site DonorsChoose.org. In total, more than 180 projects were fulfilled, benefiting over 19,400 San Diego students with a total contribution of more than $130,000.
"As part of our support of our nation's men and women of the military, this is one way we can say thank you to those who serve and their families," said Ken McNeely, President of AT&T California. "We are thrilled to support these students as part of our ongoing commitment to education through AT&T Aspire and to military communities. We honor those who serve on Veterans Day and all year long."

AT&T previously supported several DonorsChoose.org initiatives as part of AT&T Aspire, the company's $350 million planned commitment to education.
AT&T is honored to serve those who serve. In 2013, AT&T announced that it is stepping up its veteran recruiting efforts with the goal of hiring 10,000 veterans over the next 5 years. Since making that commitment, AT&T hired more than 9,500 veterans and is well on the way to surpassing that goal.
