AT&T Launches Fixed Wireless Internet in Select Rural and Underserved Areas in Mississippi
JACKSON, Miss., July 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T* Fixed Wireless Internet1 is now available for rural and underserved locations in select areas of Mississippi.
Residents in parts of 15 counties are included in the initial rural and underserved locations in Mississippi to which AT&T has extended Fixed Wireless Internet as part of its FCC Connect America Fund commitment. As a part of this commitment, we plan to reach over 400,000 locations nationwide by the end of 2017, and over 1.1 million locations nationwide by 2020.
Counties in Mississippi included in today's announcement are Amite, Attala, Choctaw, Clarke, DeSoto, Jefferson, Kemper, Lawrence, Neshoba, Marion, Panola, Tallahatchie, Walthall, Wilkinson and Winston.
AT&T plans to reach nearly 133,000 locations with this technology across Mississippi by 2020.
AT&T will be making community-specific announcements in Mississippi in the upcoming weeks and months ahead.

AT&T's Fixed Wireless Internet service delivers a home internet connection with download speeds of at least 10Mbps. The connection comes from a wireless tower to a fixed antenna on customers' homes or businesses. This is an efficient way to deliver high-quality internet to customers in rural and underserved areas.
The 9 states where we have launched service include Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Louisiana. Additional states where we plan to launch this year are Arkansas, California, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Ohio, Texas and Wisconsin.
We'll provide updates about additional availability in parts of Mississippi, and other states, as we expand Fixed Wireless Internet to more locations.
