Attalus Capital Hires Senior Portfolio Strategist To Enhance Customizable Portfolio Capabilities

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Attalus Capital, L.P. (Attalus), a global asset management firm, today announced the appointment of Joshua Silva as Senior Portfolio Strategist. In this newly created role, Mr. Silva will work with Attalus' trading and risk management teams to enhance the cost and benefit characteristics of Attalus' risk calibration and benchmark replication for use with traditional and alternative investment strategies.

Mr. Silva will also work with Attalus' clients to evaluate and construct customized solutions for their unique portfolio challenges. The development of Attalus' proprietary investment platform addresses the growing demand for customized investment solutions such as risk exposure aggregation, calibration, inflation protection and tail hedging among the firm's institutional clients.

The appointment of Mr. Silva represents the continuation of Attalus' expansion of its investment team, adding key personnel with macro market expertise, portfolio construction, dedicated risk management, and comprehensive trading capabilities.

Mr. Silva was most recently a managing director of equity derivatives trading at Credit Suisse in New York.  He was responsible for overseeing the US single stock option flow derivatives trading team and managing its risk.  Prior to this, he held positions within Credit Suisse's single stock options flow trading and securitized derivatives groups in London. Mr. Silva began his investment career in 1995 as an options trader at CME with Societe Generale. He holds a Master of Science in Financial Mathematics from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
