Attorney Lisa Pezzano Mickey, Founding Partner of Pezzano Mickey & Bornstein, Offers Practical Advice for Injured Workers in "Employee's Guide to New Jersey Workers' Compensation Law"
PHILLIPSBURG, N.J., March 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Navigating a workers' compensation claim can be frustrating for injured workers and their families, but veteran attorney Lisa Pezzano Mickey (http://www.pmblawfirm.com/) is committed to de-mystifying the process and helping workers receive the compensation they deserve. She explores the process in exhaustive detail — but without dense legal jargon — in her new book, "Employee's Guide to New Jersey Workers' Compensation Law: Protect Your Rights When Injured at Work."
"Knowledge is power," explains Pezzano Mickey. "If you are injured at work, you must arm yourself with the information you need to avoid being taken advantage of by the workers' compensation insurance carrier."
"Employee's Guide to New Jersey Workers' Compensation Law" opens with an overview of the workers' compensation system in New Jersey. Additional chapters provide further detail on topics such as medical treatment by workers' compensation physicians, temporary disability benefits, as well as the interplay between unemployment insurance and workers' compensation. Throughout the book, Pezzano Mickey carefully lays out the facts and suggests actionable steps people can take, along with the reasoning behind those steps.
"As someone who grew up in a blue-collar family," adds Pezzano Mickey, "I have immense respect for the workers whose sacrifices helped to make this country successful. That's why I'm committed to helping workers earn their rightful compensation after a workplace injury."
While a book is not a substitute for legal representation, Pezzano Mickey believes that understanding the workers' compensation system in greater detail can result in greater clarity and less stress for injured workers. "Employee's Guide to New Jersey Workers' Compensation Law" is published by Speakeasy Publications.
