Audubon of Martin County Elects New President

STUART, Fla., Aug. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- John Nelson has been named president of Audubon of Martin County. As a wildlife videographer, he was a contributor for the National Geographic channel's "World's Deadliest" series in 2013 and is currently the voice of The Audubon Moment heard on the Florida Public Radio Network, locally: WQCS 88.9 FM. Mr. Nelson is a certified Florida Master Naturalist and holds a degree in anthropology from Seattle Pacific University.
Deborah Clark has been named vice-president. Ms. Clark previously served on Audubon of Martin County's Board of Directors; was volunteer coordinator for the Possum Long Wetland Installation Project, and Resource Development Chair. Debbie is also a member of Audubon Florida, Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park, and Friends of the Loxahatchee River, Women's Club of Stuart, Masterwork's Chorus of Palm Beach and the Elliott Museum.
Beverly Poppke has been named secretary. Ms. Poppke had been vice-president. She is also a member of the Florida Bluebird Society; monitors the endangered Least Tern for The Shorebird Alliance; is the liaison for the South Florida Water Management District, Boy Scouts of America and Garden Club of Stuart.
Matt Hollister has been elected treasurer of Audubon of Martin County. Mr. Hollister is the president of a sustainable energy company, MJ Hollister & Associates, which specializes in solar lighting. He also serves as a board member for the Arts Council of Martin County.
