Austin Free-Net Now Accepting Adult Students For Technology Certification Prep Course

AUSTIN, Texas, July 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Computer-and Internet-based 501(c)3 Austin Free-Net (AFN) will begin low-cost Technology Certification Prep Classes September 10, 2012.  A first-of-its-kind for AFN, the class will cost 40 percent less than the current going rate. The professionally instructed Strata IT Fundamentals, A+ and Network+ education is $3,000 and includes all materials, including  a full computer system, which students will configure and keep at the end of class.  Scholarships worth more than $2,700 also will be awarded to qualifying students.

To be offered quarterly, the 10-week, three-tiered course will be held at The DeWitty Center in east Austin.  Professional Information Technology instructor and consultant Kennedy Sikini will provide a maximum of 12 students with the skill set needed to successfully pass three employer-requested certifications – Strata IT Fundamentals, A+ and Network+.
