The nation's largest live trivia event is back for another evening of quiz and pageantry at the Austin Music Hall. From coast to coast, teams compete for geekdom, glory, and a cash prize.

So what is Geek Bowl?
Think Jeopardy!, but for the early-adopting, pop culture-referencing, useless information-hoarding masses.

Who gets to play?
Teams pay a flat entry fee to compete for cash and glory. 175 teams enter, only one team wins.

Wired Magazine said, "... As the teams headed into the final bonus round, the 1,000-plus people in attendance were almost sober enough to care."

What's at stake?
Glory! Also over $10,000 worth of cash prizes. First place banks $6,000, second $3000, third $1200.

Our teams are rabid about winning. The competition -- bitter, the teams -- cutthroat, and lives could be lost. The last statement might be untrue. Last year Philadelphia stole the cup in sudden death. History is not likely to repeat itself; no team has ever won twice.

Why should you care?
Geeks Who Drink hosts weekly live pub trivia quizzes at approximately 300 bars across 22 states. Last year 150 teams packed into the Austin Music Hall for this record-setting event. This year we're expecting 175.

We want your coverage!
This is the largest event of its kind in the US: Geek Bowl VI drew teams from over 12 states. Last year we featured dance routines, a live music round, dance-offs, and comedy. Who knows where we'll take it this year? We know, but you should come and see. There's drama, heartbreak, intrigue, people in funny outfits, geek culture ... Seriously, why wouldn't you want to cover it? Updates? Like us on Facebook and follow us @GeeksWhoDrink.

We're happy to aid in social coverage, live blogging, video coverage, live cave painting, and more. Winning teams, quizmasters and players will be available for interviews.

Media representatives will be accredited with passes for the pre-party, event, and after-party.
