Autel North America Appoints Art Jacobsen CEO

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif., June 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Autel North America, a leading provider of diagnostic tools, equipment and services in the automotive aftermarket, today announced that Art Jacobsen has joined the company as chief executive officer.

As CEO, Mr. Jacobsen will be responsible for all North American operations, including the launch of innovative new products. He will play a key role in building and developing relationships and partnerships that will introduce Autel products and services to a larger marketplace, new sales channels and retail partners.

Mr. Jacobsen is a 23-year veteran of the automotive industry and a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). In his previous role, he guided a startup automotive company from 500 thousand dollars in annual sales to well over 18 million in just 3 years. Mr. Jacobsen also spent over a decade at Honda Research and Development where he specialized in data calibration relating to engine controls, on-board diagnostics and emission control technology. He was the engine project leader for the 1998 Honda Civic, 2001 Acura MDX and 2003 Honda Pilot. Mr. Jacobsen holds several patents in on board diagnostics as well as emission control algorithms and techniques. A frequent public speaker and expert in vehicle maintenance, emissions and safety programs, the right-to-repair act, vehicle on-board diagnostics, engine control technologies and their role in emission reduction, Mr. Jacobsen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from The Ohio State University.
