Authentic Sports Management® Signs Melvin Guillard

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla., May 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Glenn Robinson, President, Authentic Sports Management® (ASM) today announced the signing of "The Young Assassin" Melvin Guillard is the newest UFC® fighter to join the roster of athletes currently under ASM.  

Guillard (46-burst onto the fighting scene in 2005 as one of the competitors in the second season of The Ultimate Fighter®. Since then he has fought 12 times in the organization, racking up nine wins with six of those via TKO/KO.  Guillard is one of the early stars of the sport and has remained a fan favorite for his fast-paced, aggressive fighting style.

The UFC recently announced that Guillard will face Shane Roller at UFC 132 on July 2 in Las Vegas.  Riding a four-fight win streak, the lightweight thrilled fans in his last fight against Evan Dunham with a first round TKO due to knee strikes. The bout earned Guillard the Knockout of the Night honors and established him as a top contender in 155-pound division.

UFC 132 features the bantamweight title fight between reigning champion Dominick Cruz and number one contender Urijah Faber, as well as a middleweight fight between Wanderlei Silva and Chris Leben and a light heavyweight bout between Tito Ortiz and Ryan Bader.  Available on Pay-Per-View, UFC 132 will take place live Saturday, July 2 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.

Guillard joins the premier roster of athletes under Authentic Sports Management including UFC fighters Rashad Evans, Kenny Florian, Anthony Johnson and Jorge Santiago as well as Cosmo Alexandre, Gesias "JZ" Calvacante and the superstar brothers Danillo and Yuri Villefort, and others.
