LOS ANGELES, June 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Cheri Schmidt, author of the successful Fateful Vampire Series, and Tristan Hunt, a seasoned audiobook narrator, decided to start writing together in 2016 to create an exciting new business model and it's paying off.
Having come from artistic backgrounds, Cheri as a photographer and designer, Tristan as a musician and performer, they've often joked while embarking on this unexpected journey that they are 'two creative, unlikely writers, writing together…' but the union has been a natural progression of working to bring the Fateful Vampire Series to life through audio over the past three years. The duo worked so well it was only natural to begin telling the stories together moving forward.
To test the idea, Tristan wrote a short novella within the Fateful world of characters to see if Cheri could then make it her own. It worked beautifully. Cheri had been trying to figure out how to write faster and put out more product for years. In Tristan, Cheri saw a way forward.
Based on Cheri's experience and research, the team decided to focus all their efforts on building a library. They set a goal of releasing at least one title a month. So far, they've released four books, including Sleeping Beauty's Very Unlikely Murder (a reimagining of the classic fairy tale) and a fifth novel out today, which is a prequel to the vampire series entitled Fateful Vampires: A Romance Begins.
By sticking to this model of releasing a book per month, they've seen a growth rate of 42% in April alone.
It's a miracle that these two struggling artists found each other in a sea of uncertainty and competition to create something successful. The truth is, Cheri and Tristan saved each other when they needed it most. After struggling to make ends meet, Tristan is realizing a dream to become a writer while providing the quality of life he so desperately wanted for his family and Cheri is seeing exponential growth for her burgeoning business, while finding solace from difficult issues at home.
