COMMACK, N.Y., July 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Avery Biomedical Devices (ABD), manufacturer of the Avery Breathing Pacemaker System, is pleased to announce the appointment of Neil Grossman, PA-C as Director of Sales.
Mr. Grossman will be responsible for expanding the business interests of Avery Biomedical Devices in order to provide superior support and service to our patients, physicians and caregivers.
Mr. Grossman is a board-certified physician assistant with over 11 years of experience working with respiratory and allergic diseases. Prior to coming to Avery Biomedical Devices, Mr. Grossman held several senior clinical and commercial roles including the Manager of Clinical Education for Thermo Fisher Scientific, ImmunoDiagnostics division, along with senior sales leadership positions in both the in vitro diagnostic and clinical laboratory markets. Mr. Grossman states, "I'm excited about the opportunity to be a part of an organization whose foundation was built on a clinician and patient-centric approach to the medical device market. I look forward to building sustainable internal and external relationships for years to come."
"The addition of Neil will further our efforts to reach those who can benefit from the Avery Breathing Pacemaker," noted Linda Towler, CEO of Avery Biomedical Devices. "Neil's comprehensive understanding of the medical device market along with his clinical background and training abilities will be a tremendous benefit to the growth of ABD."
The Avery Breathing Pacemaker System is the only diaphragm-pacing device with full pre-market approval from the US FDA and CE marking privileges under the European Active Implantable Medical Device Directive for adult and pediatric use. In addition, using small implanted radiofrequency receivers rather than electrode wires that pass directly through the skin may decrease a patient's risk of infection and ongoing wound care management issues.
Avery has been commercially distributing breathing pacemakers since the early 1970's. Since then, more than 2,000 patients have been implanted in over 40 countries establishing an unsurpassed record of safety and reliability.
If you know of a patient with quadriplegia, diaphragm paralysis, central sleep apnea, or other condition who could benefit from an Avery Breathing Pacemaker, please contact us by mail, fax, or through our website.
