MIAMI, Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Avionica is pleased to announce FAA STC certification of its 3G Wireless miniQAR Module. The 3G Wireless Module is applicable to all miniQAR Mk III Quick Access Recorders, which are certified for installation on nearly 150 aircraft types. This expansive certification makes the miniQAR the most widely applicable wireless QAR available.
"The 3G Wireless Module is the most anticipated miniQAR development to date," stated President Raul Segredo. "The module attaches to the face of the miniQAR and makes flight data retrieval simple, secure, and efficient for our customers worldwide."
miniQAR Mk III interfaces include two ARINC 717 (Harvard Biphase or Bipolar RZ), three ARINC-429, and one RS-422 channel (ACMS), one RS-232, two 100BT Ethernet, and two USB 2.0 ports, as well as three ARINC 410 discretes.
Avionica invented the miniature QAR, and is an industry leader in QAR technology, with over 5,000 worldwide installations, in over 100 aircraft types, recording the data of airline, corporate, and military operators, worldwide.
miniQARs are easy to install; Most Boeing aircraft are already provisioned, while others require minor alterations which can easily be accomplished in an overnight hold. Lightweight adapter trays are also available to assist in the replacement of traditional QARs. The miniQAR's low weight (approx. 300 grams including 3G Wireless Module) can save tens of thousands of pounds of fuel over an aircraft's lifetime when compared to installation of a traditionally sized QAR.
