Kelsey unofficially began her makeup artistry career at age 15, when she signed up for a summer makeup course guiding her through print, TV and film makeup. She graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a double major in Photography and Digital Media and a double minor in Art History and Classical Arts.
