AVRS Hires New President And Executive Vice President

PETALUMA, Calif., June 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Robert Rieger, CEO and founder of AVRS, Inc. and Rick Francis, CTO and co-founder announced additions to the AVRS executive team of Warren J. Kaplan, as President and Bob Tomasi as Executive Vice President of National Operations. Mr. Kaplan and Mr. Tomasi were also appointed to the AVRS Board of Directors.

Mr. Kaplan and Mr. Tomasi both have over 30 years of experience with technology start-ups, as well as public companies.  They also served on the executive team of NetCom Communications, Inc., founded by Bob Rieger, which grew rapidly to become a public company traded on the NASDAQ stock market.

According to AVRS CEO Bob Rieger, "Warren and Bob bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the AVRS team." Rieger went on to state, "Not only were they both instrumental in developing NetCom into a world class company on the NASDAQ exchange, they continued on to successfully position several companies for IPO and acquisition."

Mr. Kaplan served in various capacities at NetCom during his tenure, as Executive Vice President, Managing Director, International CFO, Member of the Board of Directors and lead the IPO along with Mr. Rieger. Mr. Tomasi served as VP of Operations and established the operations and customer service functions to allow the rapid deployment of the NetCom technology throughout the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.

Mr. Kaplan has led teams on 3 IPOs, as well as subsequent secondary offerings in excess of $3 billion, as well as instrumented the acquisition of companies in excess of over $5 billion in total. Mr. Tomasi served in several senior (VP, SVP, COO) operational executive positions over the past 25 years with companies such as British Telecom, MCI Communications and McDonnell Douglas where he successfully scaled operations to support subscriber bases in excess of 750,000 customers on multiple continents.

In their new executive roles at AVRS Mr. Kaplan and Mr. Tomasi will be leading strategy and execution of several existing, as well as, new initiatives that will be deployed throughout the remainder of fiscal year 2014 and into 2015.
