LOS ANGELES, Dec. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- AVT, Inc. (OTC Markets: AVTC) (www.autoretail.com), a leading manufacturer of automated retailing centers, self-service kiosks, and custom designed vending machines, clarified today that it should not be considered to be in the legal marijuana or cannabis sector.
AVT formerly manufactured vending machines for a company named Medbox (which operates within the cannabis sector), however that relationship has ended. Moreover, the extent of AVT's relationship with the cannabis industry was limited to selling vending machines, as it has to many other business sectors.
AVT's management states that the company is a leading technology integrator and developer of customized solutions to provide automated, self-service retailing platforms.
"We have elevated what once was a relatively simple vending machine, by developing and incorporating technology to create a new class of high-functioning automated retailing centers," said Wayne Salvino, President of AVT, Inc. "We have patented several applications of our technologies, and have advanced the entire vending industry through our invention and innovation."
Some stock watch websites list AVT under the cannabis sector, however, management states that using this logic, if the company manufactured soda machines for Coke, it would be considered a beverage company.
"We have built our company on developing and/or being the first to market custom automated retailing platforms for a wide variety of companies in a range of industries, including propane, carpet cleaning, health food, protein drinks, and medicines," Salvino stated. "We work with businesses, retailers and entrepreneurs to help them expand touch-points, build brand recognition, increase sales, and minimize costs through our unique, self-service systems."
